Trinidad is a town in Sancti Spíritus Province in central Cuba. Together with the nearby Valle de los Ingenios, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. The waterfalls just outside town in Topes de Collantes are beautiful. You can reach them by car or on one of the day tours offered by Cubatur. At night there is salsa dancing in the main square. Explore the colonial houses—the doors are often open and you can see some of the antiques from the street. Be sure to visit Casa de la Música, an open-air venue with a small stage where bands perform at night. There is usually salsa music and excellent salsa dancers enjoying the music and dancing.
