About the destination: Nelspruit is a city in northeastern South Africa and the capital of Mpumalanga province. Located on the Crocodile River, the city is also known by the disputed name Mbombela. The surrounding towns and countryside make for an interesting drive. About the destination: Vilankulo (or Vilanculos) is a coastal town in Mozambique, located in the Vilanculos District of Inhambane Province. Vilankulo is named after local tribal chief Gamala Vilankulo Mukoke, and some of the bairros (suburbs) are named after his sons. Known as Vilanculos during colonial times, the name was changed to Vilankulo at independence. Today the district is called Vilanculos and the town Vilankulo. Vilankulo has grown significantly over the last decade and has received substantial investment in its tourism infrastructure. The town of Vilankulo is the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago. Dhows and helicopters connect the town with the archipelago. The town itself is only about 5 km long, and its airport is located just outside the town, with flights arriving and departing daily. It is home to a new international airport, which offers daily flights to several regional destinations, including Johannesburg and Maputo.
